Welcome to the Promised LAN! This server was promised to me 3,000 years ago! Currently, I am running:
Everything thus far uses the base domain. I setup Nginx correctly this time, so it's a little easier to type.
Don't quite know what my main form of communication is going to be. I've used XMPP in the past and it's worked fine, but group voice chat is annoying. That's why I setup a Mumble instance, but it doesn't support video. I know Matrix is a thing, but it is complete niggerware, i.e., it steals all my system's resources. Why is the only complete server software for it written in Python? Every messaging protocol sucks. Even if that wasn't the case, 99% of people would still choose the shittier option. That's why things like Pisscord are so popular; they appeal to goys.
Used to like using email for personal use, but nobody messaged me. It's easy enough to get working, but it's tricky to get people to use "privacy-respecting" options. I put that in quotes because I don't trust any provider, except myself, but you can't even host email on a residential connection, which is why I stopped using it. PGP is the main encryption used over it, which is just all right. Heard minisign is decent, but I've never given it a chance.
